  • A bottle of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2012 Grifone - Majestic Wine

    3 x Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2012 Grifone

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, not to be confused with the Tuscan village of the same name, is made from the Montepulciano grape variety from the Abruzzi region. This is the signature wine from the area, with coastal plantings at the foot of the Apennines mountains. Whilst standards in this region can vary, this is a reliable, medium-bodied wine with lots of red cherry fruit and soft supple tannins. The ripeness of the fruit and the soft tannic structure make this the perfect party wine or for drinking with light pork dishes.

  • A bottle of Luis Felipe Edwards Mountain View Merlot 2012 Central Valley - Majestic Wine

3 x Luis Felipe Edwards Mountain View Merlot 2012 Central Valley

The Luis Felipe Edwards winery is the largest family-owned winery in Chile, still managed today by the founder and his three children. Winemaking here is managed by Nicolas Bizzarri, formerly of the famous Robert Mondavi wines in Napa Valley. Aromas of ripe plums and strawberries, with faint notes of tomato leaf and sage. The palate has a thick and jammy feel, with soft, mature tannins and a rounded, easy style. A great all-round food wine. At its best with meaty pasta dishes or lasagne.

  • A bottle of Aspen Shiraz 2011/2012 South Eastern Australia - Majestic Wine

3 x Aspen Shiraz 2011/2012 South Eastern Australia

The Aspen range is named after the Aspen tree, with its characteristic quivering leaves, sometimes referred to as 'chattering tongues'. This Shiraz is sourced from a number of partner growers and is matured mainly in steel vats to preserve youthful fruit flavours. A medium weight red, with a pleasing balance between ripe fruit and savoury, earthy notes on the nose. The palate is succulent and mouthfilling, with lashings of red berry and brambles. Serve with spiced red meat dishes such as steaks, lamb kebabs or grilled chops.
