Located in Cenicero, in the heart of Rioja Alta, Cáceres was founded Enrique Forner in the late 1960s. Aided by a fresh microclimate, the Tempranillo grapes attain their expressive best, before the wine is aged for 12 months in oak and up to 14 months in bottle. Cherry and blackberry aromas accompanied by Mediterranean herb aromatics on the nose, with luscious red cherry and strawberry fruits, cinnamon and silky tannins with a long, silky and spicy finish. Enjoy over the next three years grilled vegetables, paella, ham, chorizo and cheese.
Klein Constantia lies on the narrow Cape Peninsula, only 20km from the centre of Cape Town, where there is exposure on all sides to the maritime influences of the southern Atlantic and the False Bay area, which moderate the tempratures within the Constantia Valley. Typically South African in style, with a deep ruby core of ripe fruit and spicy aromas from 20 months' barrel ageing. Weighty and richly textured, with plenty of fine tannins providing a lasting finish. Matches well with roast beef or any hearty red meat dishes.
Sangiovese makes up 80 % of the blend of this Chianti DOCG, from the highly-rated producer Poliziano. Formed in 1961, the aim of this winemaker is to use classic Italian grapes and a combination of old and new winemaking techniques to produce quality wines. Displaying lots of fresh red cherry flavours on the palate with structure and firm acidity holding the wine together. Tannins are modest and ripe, altogether providing a rounded, well made wine. Best enjoyed with cured Italian meats, tomato sauce dishes and lighter meat dishes.
The grapes are hand picked, hand selected and only the best of the best are allowed to form part of this wine. Aromas of peaches and lychees are complemented by spicy undertones of white pepper and cinnamon on the palate. Six months ageing in French oak barrels has added richness to the lingering finish. Will partner delicately flavoured, creamy seafood and poultry dishes.
The Waimea terroir and typical high sunshine have been captured in the production of this wine resulting in a ripe, concentrated style balanced by a clean, mineral structure. Aromas of ripe gooseberry and tropical fruit are complemented by delicate floral notes and mineral characters. The elegant, crisp palate will provide the ideal accompaniment to all kinds of seafood, particularly oysters.
A generous and lively Chardonnay, which has been the winner of numerous awards. Grapes from low-yielding vines are naturally fermented with wild yeasts, partly in new oak barrels, followed by 6 months' lees ageing for added softness and complexity. Dried fruit aromas abound on the nose, with a touch of honey and white flowers. The palate has an ample feel, very round, with a fleshy fruit core and tinges of vanilla. A great all-rounder, perfect with grilled fish, roast chicken, mussels or soft cheese.
