2 x Conde Calatrava Crianza 2006 La Mancha

From the largest privately-owned producer in La Mancha; situated on a 700m plateau. The climate here is notably dry through both summer and winter, ensuring consistently high quality year on year. The wine is aged in French and American oak barriques for 12 months. Medium-deep red in colour. The nose offers a comfortable balance of crushed red fruits and vanilla-like notes from oak ageing. Medium-full bodied, with softened tannins, yet plenty of grip and length. The classic style to accompany well-seasoned lamb or grilled pork chops.

Light and fresh like the Pinot grigios of Italy, this wine from the cool slopes of Mendoza in Argentina combines this with an intensity not found at this price in the Old World.

2 x Frascati Superiore 2010 Cantina San Marco

The San Marco estate is one of the largest producers of Frascati wine. Located in the hills overlooking Rome, where the vineyards are on well-drained, mineral-rich volcanic soils. Cold fermentation is used to preserve and intensify the delicate flavours of the grapes. The scent of fresh green apples and ripe white grapes, enhanced with distinctly floral tones. Light in feel, but with good concentration on the palate, and a balance between soft fruit and snappy acidity. A versatile lunchtime white, ideal with seafood platters or risottos.
