Origin
Since the 1980’s Vidal-Fleury has been owned by the Guigal family.  Their support has allowed the business to flourish and has enabled them to continue to produce classic wines, blending traditional techniques with modern equipment. Cairanne is a hillside village of the Southern Rhône, formerly part of the Côtes du Rhône appellation. Recognised for their superior quality, the wines are now labelled with the village name, setting them apart from lesser wines from the rest of the region.
Taste
Bright yet bold and dense cherry red, with an aromatic nose of sweet prunes, raspberry compote and hints of toast. The palate is equally fruit-driven, with robust tannins and a peppery finish.
Enjoy
Drink with barbecued lamb chops or a nice charry magret de canard.

    A real pleaser

We loved this Cote du Rhone. We are big fans of wines from the area and while it's not quite a St Jospeh it is a real winner for its price. Plenty of depth. Buckets of Rhoney flavours and well worth £1 more than the other Videl-Fleury C d R on sale.

    Lovely Rhone

This one lived up to its name and the prize it won. Easy drinking Rhone with lovely cherry and raspberry flavours. We had to have two bottles!

    very disappointing

shared a bottle of this with friends and we all big fans of Rhone wines but really disliked this- no pepper, sour, quite unpleasant.

  • Sweet, vividly fruity Rhone red (2010 Vintage)

"I was impressed by this sweet, vividly fruity Rhone red, with its flavours of pepper and black cherry. Great on its own or with the tomato tart. (Jamie Goode, The Sunday Express, 9th September 2012)"

  • Delivers fulsome bright fruit and freshness (2010)

"The dominant Grenache in the blend delivers fulsome bright fruit and freshness while Syrah and Mourvedre contribute some punch with black pepper and structure (Terry Kirby, The Independent, 10th June 2012)."
