About buying Fine Wine at Majestic
Feel free to mix Fine Wines with “regular” wines to make up your order of 12 bottles (or more!) in total. However, at least 6 bottles must be Fine Wine products, because Fine Wines require special distribution from our temperature-controlled Fine Wine Centre in London. Original wooden cases not available ouside the M25.

"A blend of Chardonnay and Grechetto and aged in French oak, Antinori's Cervaro is the benchmark for white wines of this style in the Umbria region. The 2007 Cervaro has a rich 'Burgundian' nose of vanilla, French toast, baked apples, peaches and cinnamon spice. The palate is exceptionally rich and textured, with stone fruits, creme brulee and sweet toasty oak. The finish is long and luscious, harmonised by palate cleansing acidity."

"Regarded as one of the finest sites in Puligny Montrachet, 'Les Pucelles' neighbours the Grand Crus of Batard and Bienvenues. Similar in style to its big brothers, the 2007 'Les Pucelles' from Jomain is superb. A powerful nose of citrus peel, buttered toast, toasted hazelnuts and lemon curd. Gob-smackingly gorgeous, it is rich and powerful but maintains a wonderful elegance due to the fantastic mineral / citrus backbone. Sensational!!"

"A marvellous bouquet of peaches, cinnamon poached pears, white flowers, minerals, and a delicate whiff of gun smoke. Texturally beautiful, flavours of peaches and pears adorn the palate and marry wonderfully with the lovely minerality that provides such an extraordinary finish."

  • A bottle of Chassagne-Montrachet Blanc 2007 Blain-Gagnard - Majestic Wine

    Chassagne-Montrachet Blanc 2007 Blain-Gagnard

While not as long-lived or as prestigious as Puligny, these wines are often better value and are more approachable when young. A fine example from a very good, small grower.

"This is a serious Meursault that is the epitome of purity and freshness. Beautiful aromas of stone fruits, baked lemons, citrus fruits, melon, toast and minerals leap from the glass. The nose spills over onto the palate, and as the flavours intensify the wonderful tartness of citrus fruits pulls everything back together, providing wonderful texture and mouthfeel. Its freshness, purity and precision of aromas and flavours is extraordinary, and this is a wine that should provide drinking pleasure for at least another 6 – 8 years."

Superb length and crisp acidity show that this wine will only improve with time in bottle. Drink now until 2012.

"A delightful nose of star fruit, honeydew melon, minerals, toasty oak, and creme brulee. A very precise and subtle palate of tropical fruits and oak are kept in sync by the wonderful minerality, and gentle acidity. Drinking now, but would better if left untouched for 12 - 18 months."

"This is textbook Puligny from a top grower. An enticing nose of white flowers, peaches, hazelnuts, toast, minerals and lemon zest paves the way for more of the same in the mouth. The palate is reasonably fruity and medium bodied, and has a wonderful chalky and zesty finish. This is archetypal Puligny, and it’s delicious! Perfect as an aperitif or partnered with seafood. Drink it over the next 2 – 3 years."

  • A bottle of Chassagne-Montrachet 2005 Jean-Marc Pillot - Majestic Wine

    Chassagne-Montrachet 2005 Jean-Marc Pillot

A deliciously natural Chassagne that is ripe but fresh, with a hint of vanilla to broaden interest. As we have come to expect from this domaine, one of the most impressive Chassagne Villages cuvées tasted.

"Now fully mature, this is a delicious Chassagne Montrachet with lots of character. Swirling the wine round in the glass reveals the delicious and intense aromas of roasted nuts, baked apples, freshly baked bread and hints of spice intermingle well with the citrus and tropical undertones. In the mouth the wine is wonderfully evolved, rich and intense, and is balanced by the tangy citrus acidity. Very fresh, clean and long in the mouth, this is classy stuff! Drink it over the next couple of years."

"Aromas of white peaches, citrus fruits, toasted hazelnuts and minerals provide a light and elegant bouquet. The influence of oak has been kept to a minimum by fermenting the wine in new, 1 year old and 2 year old French barriques. In the mouth, the wine continues to be subtle, elegant and sexy. Peaches and melons dominate, with some subtle tropical notes, all of which is balanced by wonderful citrussy acidity and a minerally backbone. The finish is long, soft and elegant. Delicious!"

"The village of Pernand-Vergelesses is overlooked by the Grand Cru Hill of Corton. This exceptional white offers a wonderfully rich nose of toasted almonds, pineapple, white flowers and notes of Acacia honey. It has a wonderful nuttiness and richness that tantalises the palate and provides such an awesome finish. Fantastic for drinking now and over the next couple of years."
