    Consistently good value

This is probably the best value Cali Zinfandel available in the UK at the moment. Not exactly refined, powerful and fruit driven, but supple. This may be a little over extracted for some tastes, but this is a perfect match for pepperoni/meaty pizza, or perhaps the matches at Euro2012? Drink now, it won't get any better.

    Terry's Top Tipple!

Retired wine rep. I review in plain English. If you think that California can't produce good wine....try this!! It's a big hearty red wine, full bodied with tastes of black cherries and dark fruits that linger on and on. Goes fantastically well with juicy steaks....season with plenty of black pepper, a little rock salt, cook rare to medium in the middle and black on the outside..fantastic!! I've had the pleasure of meeting the winemaker, Joel Peterson, a couple of times over the years. He always has a smile on his face....try a bottle of Ravenswood with 'blackened' steak and you'll understand why!

    Very good value

Love this. At the weekend, we open a bottle, then another. One is never enough. Bought several to put away for Christmas.

    Good value Zin

We have lived in California and enjoy Zinfandels as well as other "big" tasting Ca wines. Zins are known for their intense fruity taste that is quite unlike the relatively flat favours that seem to be preferred in France. The grape originally came from Italy but is mainly grown in California. We think this is a very good value Zin for the money. There are better Zins but they not readily available in the UK. More fruity than a Cab but not as complex as the better Cabs, but very quaffable, particularly with cheeses, red meats and dark chocolate.

    Great with 'que!

Far superior to the 'Vintners Blend' found in some supermarkets, this old vine is perfect with barbeque. Ideal partner for homemade burgers, rack of lamb, or steak. A big, fruity effort that packs a punch without too much expense.

    A big cheer for `old vines`

This is without doubt one of the finest Zinfandels at the offer price to come out of California for a while.Plenty of fruit in there but sophisticated at the same time. Make sure it has `old vine` on the label because the normal Lodi`s are nowhere near as good
