Grape

Zinfandel

Origin
Cline Cellars have created this wine by sourcing grapes from a selection of parcels of old vines in several regions, the majority coming from their oldest and lowest-yeilding vines in Oakley, and the remainder from Lodi and Mendocino.
Taste
Heady and bold on the nose, which is full of ripe strawberry notes, and hints of coffee bean and cocoa. Wonderfully plump and juicy on the palate, with a satisfying warmth and subtle touches of vanilla.
Enjoy
Great with barbecued steaks, well-seasoned pork chops, or venison.

Body

Red Wine with of a Body of D

    Not a representative California Zinfandel

This zinfandel is light colored and does not have a big taste nor much of a finish. Not representative of a good California zinfandel. In my view, overpriced.

A good Zin, but a bit overpriced

This is a 'Fine Wine' on the website, but wasn't in the fine wine section of my local Majestic store. I guess that's so they can justify the higher price? This is a nice big well made Zin, but equally it's nothing that blew me away and when compared with a Ravenswood (at maybe half the price) it doesn't justify its inflated price tag especially if you only buy a single bottle.
