Grape

Gamay

Origin
A deliberately soft and juicy style of red Burgundy, made with 100% Gamay in the traditional 'passetoutgrains' style. The grapes undergo thorough de-stemming to remove any harsh tannins, before fermentation and at least 6 months maturation prior to bottling.
Taste
Light in weight, with a juicy summer-fruit character, where bright flavours of raspberry and strawberry abound. Minimal tannins and a good dash of acidity keep the fruit feeling fresh and lively.
Enjoy
Drink at cellar temperature with cold cuts, salads, or mild cheese.

    Easy drinking

A very easy drinking and smooth wine. I struggle to find French wines here that match the quality in your average brasserie there, but this one really hits the mark

    2008 was excellent

I have the 2008 which was lovely - a lot of subtle flavour despite the low level alcohol. Disappointed about these reviews, which seem to refer to 2009 vintage...

    fair for the price

while it won't compare with any wines in the higher price brackets, i found it to be a decent easy drink

    Poor cheap Burgundy

This wine has reminded me that there really is no such thing as a cheap Burgundy. Dull and lacking any feature. It really is substandard and Majestic really should know better!
