Grape

Pinot Noir

Origin
Made by Jacques Vigier, director of the celebrated local Cave, this Pinot Noir comes from the stony foothills of the Massif Central. From the small VDQS St-Pourçain in the Allier département.
Taste
The intensity of fresh redcurrant and spice flavours show just what good value and quality the Pinot Noir grape is capable of when grown in the Loire.
Enjoy
Ideally served slightly chilled, it is delicious on its own or with white meat dishes, salads and fresh pasta.

    Very thin

I expected this wine to be thin as it is a Pinot Noir, but it was extremely thin and nothing to get excited about. I actually ended up giving it to my mum to drink as she will drink almost anything!

    Clean, fruity, versatile wine

You may drink this very tasty red either on it's own or with a variety of dishes such as chicken, fish dishes with sauces or as an extra bottle with creamy cheeses.

decent wine, good value not for keeping

Easy to go overboard when drinking a decent quaffable Pinot Noir. Burgund it ain't, but a fine Summer red it certainly is even if Summer is currently alien to Britain! Better in the short term than slightly more expensive wines from Chile or elsewhere south of the equator it is! I'd have expected this quality to retail around £7 a bottle - but the nose and mouth suggests it will not get better and is likely to be less attractive before Christmas. Before then enjoy, it is excellent quality at the price.

A nice easy drinking pinot noir

A nice rounded and smooth drinking wine. Ideal at room temperature with roast beef. Very good value.
