One of the Classic British Sherrys
This is one of those sherries you see just about everywhere. It comes from the largest bodega in Jerez, Gonzales Byass, and if you visit Jerez it is a great tour to take in. This is oretty much whee sherry starts - in other words don't drink sherry that is budget priced - start with this bottle and build on it. Should be drunk very cold - from the fridge - and in a cold glass. If you visit Jerez you will quickly find locals drinking all sherry, whatever the variety, very cold. This one is light with plenty of flavours - being matured in the solara system in Jerez. Goes well with all sorts of Tapas. But this one is your starter - try the other sherry here and perhaps encourage Majestic to stock some more good ones. Sherry is a very intersting, forgotten journey of flavours - from the lightest pale to the heavey, syrupy, Perdro Xemenez (great on ice cream and stewed apple).
