Grape

Sauvignon Blanc

Origin
Founder Don Melchor introduced European vines to the Maipo Valley in the late 19th century. Produced from Sauvignon Blanc grapes left out long after others have been harvested to attain higher levels of sweetness in the Mediterranean climate of the Maule Valley.
Taste
Golden yellow with amber tones, this sumptuous wine displays ripe papaya, peach, spice and honeyed aromas. The palate is light, fresh and fruity with a long, subtle, honeyed finish.
Enjoy
Enjoy on its own as an after dinner treat or with white chocolate brûlée or caramelised fruits.

    Concha Y Toro

Good value dessert wine with a pleasing balance of sweetness and acidity. Fully agree with the previous review, I took a punt on this one and I wasn't dissappointed. Will definitely buy a few more bottles as its perfect for those minor occassions with friends, when a little treat finishs off the evening nicely

Concha y Toro Late Harvest Sauv Blanc

Represents amazing value for money for a very decent late harvest SauvB. Really alluring nose that hints at classical SauvB scents and offers up honey and earthy mineral notes as it opens up. On the palate it presents Honey, Mejdool Dates and Minerality with all the wonderful late harvest flavours. I loved it, but dont try it with any strong cheeses as they detract from the unctiousness of this great little number.

Press Reviews

  • "Possibly the best-value sweet wine on the shelves. Bright and joyous sauvignon blanc topped up with limey riesling and floral gewürztraminer. Refreshing."

  • "This zingy, good-value pudding wine from Chile is ideal for those who like any sweetness in a wine to be balanced with a burst of palate-enlivening freshness. Serve well-chilled, with nothing more elaborate than a slice of gorgonzola or a fruit-based pudding. It makes the perfect end to a summery lunch or supper."
