"Saussignac is a small appellation in the Bergerac region that produces delicious sweet white wines made from Semillon and Muscadelle grapes. The 2005 Clos d'Yvigne Saussignac is a sensational example of what can be achieved. An immense nose of poached apricots, honey, dessicated coconut, preserved Kumquats, cinnamon and a hint of nutmeg give way to a wonderfully sweet palate that delivers more of the same with awesome concentration and sweetness. Balanced by superb acidity, the wine is sweet and luscious but remains clean and refreshing. A fantastic drop!"
