Origin
Owning 140 hectares on vineyards on the steep hillsides of the Vosges mountains, Domaines Schlumberger was founded in 1810, and is one of the largest and most respected wineries of Alsace, making wines only from estate-grown fruit.
Taste
A vivid yellow with greenish tinges. The nose is nicely defined by aromas of grapefruit and lime zest. Bone dry on the palate, with a refreshing, bracing acidity and a clean, saline finish.
Enjoy
The crisp acidity and citrus fruit profile will work brilliantly with oysters, clams, crab and other seafood.

excellent example of a dry alsace reisling

this wine is well balanced crisp without being too sharp. it is very food friendly , fish and shell fish or even asian food would be good matches. great value for money . reisling is a very underrated grape . ok by me , let the masses drink chardonnay and leave the reisling for the rest of us.

    Delicious

I love this riesling. For me, it is a perfect combination of being very fruity and floral and a touch sweet up front, but with a nicely dry finish. It is not too acidic at the end, as I find some rieslings can be.

  • mouthwatering riesling oozes bold, vibrant, thrillingly complex musk peach, lime and floral fruit. (2009 Vintage)

"Unthinkable to go through the summer without a fine Alsace white to savour alongside those powerfully flavoured summer dishes. If you have stomach-space for just one, make it this racy riesling. Schlumberger differ from other Alsace producers in that every wine it produces comes from grapes grown in its own vineyards. Such quality control has paid off and this mouthwatering riesling oozes bold, vibrant, thrillingly complex musk peach, lime and floral fruit. (Jane MacQuitty, The Times, 21st July 2012)"

  • Just made for pork and ham pies on a summer picnic (2009 Vintage)

"A deep golden hue, with ripe baked-apple fruit, a squeeze of fresh peach, and a full, rounded texture. Just made for pork and ham pies on a summer picnic. (Susy Atkins, The Telegraph, 24th June 2012)"

  • Big and bold but dry on the end (2009 Vintage)

"Lot and lots of development on the nose. For Riesling habitués only. Big and bold but dry on the end (Jancis Robinson, JancisRobinson.com, 25th May 2012)"

  • Deliciously tangy, packed with flavour and texture (2009 Vintage)

"This has some waxy character, lemon and lime fruit and it is nicely pitched and it's filled with fruit on the palate with a hint of salty minerals in the background. Is it technically off-dry? Hard to say as the whooshing weight of acidity sweeps through. Deliciously tangy, packed with flavour and texture(The Wine Gang, April 2012)"
