Grape

Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon

Origin
Château Grand Corbin was built in the 18th century, but has only been a significant producer of wines since its takeover by Alain Giraud in 1960. The grapes are hand-picked, vinified in the estate's own modern winery, and matured for 12-14 months in Vosges and Allier oak.
Taste
Now fully mature, this wine offers an expressive nose of ripe bramble fruit, plum jam and cherry pie. The tannins are nicely softened, and frame a palate of lush, mellow fruit and spice.
Enjoy
Drink with braised oxtail or lamb shank.

    Very disappointing

My daughter bought me a 6 bottle case for my birthday August 2012 i have just opened the 5th bottle and it is no better than the other 4 I tried to drink. It may have been a good wine at sometime but it is way past it's best. It is brown in colour in the glass, tastes bitter and I think is corked. I used to be a big Majestic fan but now buy all my Reds from the Wine Society.

this wine was a big surprise. It is smooth but full bodied.I understand that it is at it's optimum now so I suggest anyone interested in a very nice aged wine that is ready now, go for it
