Pinot Noir

Origin
A small vineyard on the north-facing slopes of Waipawa, Hawkes Bay. A range of soil types, elevation and microclimates allows cultivation of several varieties. Lime Rock have been certified by Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand for the use of natural pest control.
Taste
Forest floor and savoury characters give undertones to the plum, cherry, black berry-fruit and wild thyme notes. A balance of fruit-sweetness, mellow acidity and silky tannins linger in the mouth.
Enjoy
Best served with filet mignon and porcini mushrooms.

  • A nice depth of raspberry and black cherry fruit (2008 Vintage)

    "Coming off a tiny vineyard, this has a nice depth of raspberry and black cherry fruit with that classic juiciness you find in more northerly NZ Pinot Noirs. Acidity counters the thickness of the raspberry fruit, with a delicate toasty note on the finish coming from the wine's 8-month maturation in 'top quality' French barrels, 30% of which were new.
