Made from a blend of wines from a range of Premier Cru vineyards, this is an excellent quality Pinot Noir. Hints of violets on the nose are followed by delicious savoury, fleshy red fruit on the palate.
A backbone of ripe raspberry fruit characterises both nose and palate, with a pungent herbaceousness and woody smokiness adding depth and complexity along the wine's full length. Drink now or over the next 2-3 years.

With a sweet, ripe nature to the fruit, this has good substance and a broad, layered sense. Shows very finely indeed for its level.
Ripe blackberry tinged with ginger and mace gets a 2006 Volnay Clos des Chenes off to a satisfying start, but there is not the refinement of tannin to accompany the fruit and spice here that accrues to the best wines in this year's Bouchard collection. 88 points. David Schildknecht, The Wine Advocate.

The lean red meatiness, pungent spices, and chalkiness that accent the fruit of Bouchard's 2006 Nuits St.-Georges Les Damodes seem to reflect that cru's position between Nuits St.-Georges and Vosne. 87 points. David Schildknecht, The Wine Advocate.
