Domaine de Chevalier Blanc 2008 Léognan

Fresh, ripe, pure citrus nose and palate, with subtle grapefruit notes. Wonderfully elegant and vibrant, with a pleasing depth of fruit and a grippy mineral nature. Very well delineated; understated and yet concentrated. Long and fine.

An absolute stunner, leaving one totally mystified as to why so few other people produced great wines in this famed appellation.

Château Haut-Bailly 2001 Pessac-Léognan, 1er Cru Classé

Smoky, spicy nose. Punchy, fresh and vibrant. Classic Graves style with attractive vivacious fruit on the palate. Late picking (finishing 15th October) of Cabernet has proved its worth in this two-thirds Cabernet/one-third Merlot blend. Haut-Bailly is achieving really good things at present.

Domaine de Chevalier Blanc 2009 Léognan, Premier Cru Classé

There is only one thing to do with a wine as great as this, and that is to cellar it and try and forget it for the next 10 to 15 years. The rewards of such patience are well worth the wait!
