A bright and inviting claret, with a nose of ripe black fruit and subtle hints of earth and forest floor. The mouth-feel is round and supple, yet enduring and possessing a pleasing complexity.
Elegantly structured claret, with aromas of pencil lead and sandalwood, and a bramble backbone. A good level of ripeness, medium body, and tannins of a firm, taut character.
Traditionally a Cabernet-Merlot blend, today the wine employs a small percentage of Petit Verdot for a firm, age-worthy structure. Aged for 18 months in 70%-new oak, the wine is elegant and round, with great aromatic complexity.

The second wine (of Pichon-Lalande), the 2007 Reserve de Comtesse, is a lighter, but equally soft and approachable version of the grand vin. 87 points. Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate (April 2010).
A smoky, evolved and savoury nose with suggestions of forest mushrooms and charcuterie against a background of red berry fruit. Nicely balanced tannins, medium body and a silky finish.
The wine is currently built around the plot of Sainte Anne, planted with a majority of Merlot. A deep, purple colour with an enticing nose of strawberry, blackcurrant and fresh roses. Silky tannins give a more 'ready-to-drink' style, packed with toasty vanilla notes and an unmistakable elegance.

A well structured wine with a backbone of inky black fruit and graphite-like tannins, complemented by subtle hints of cocoa, herbs, and earthier shades of tobacco and game. Beginning to show well now, but will cellar for another 8-10 years.

A dark ruby/purple hue is followed by notes of blueberries, raspberries, crushed rocks, and spring flowers, medium body, a soft, silky texture, lush, ripe fruit, and a heady finish.
Wonderfully golden in colour with intense ripe citrus fruits and honeyed notes.

"This is a confident, almost ambitious Suduiraut with great power and intensity towards the botrytis-rich, viscous finish that is endowed with great persistency. Lovely. Drink now-2030". 93 points. Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate.

One of the rising stars of Pauillac, Pontet-Canet has made an excellent wine in the early-maturing 2007 vintage, and is believed by many to be a rival to many first-growth properties. Impressive purity of fruit, with good concentration and ripeness, and a firm tannic structure. Drink now - 2020.
