A very weird cab sauv..
I tried this the other day and I have to say it was not at all what I was expecting from an Aussie cab sauv. Rather than the usual jammy blast one gets, this wine had an almost overwhelming (but by no means unpleasant) aroma of redcurrant.
I couldn't escape the sensation that I was drinking a St Clair PB21 sauvignon blanc which had been mixed with some cab sauv. As I say, it wasn't an unpleasant taste, but it certainly was surprising. I would buy it again purely on the basis of how interesting it was. It would be a perfect addition to a blind tasting as I feel sure it would confuse everyone!
