Pommard Vieilles Vignes 2008 Nicolas Potel

Deep garnet in the glass, and offering a bouquet of redcurrant jelly, toast and subtle smokiness. Full and amply textured on the palate, with dense, savoury-sweet fruit and tightly wound tannins. Best with nutty, mature cheeses such as cheddar, manchego or raclette.

Thelema Shiraz 2008 Stellenbosch

This is a rich, robust wine with plenty of ripe dark fruit and spice on the nose. Barrel ageing in 85% French and 15% American oak give the palate a lovely toasty finish.

A mature, medium-full bodied claret, with the classic Margaux hallmarks of dark crimson fruit overlayed with savoury, earthy flavours. Dry tannins are matched by taut acidity.

From one of the very best premier cru vineyards this is a classic steely dry Chablis with a little more richness than usual due to the excellence of the vintage. The Pinson family continue to produce excellent wines that can age 4-5 years.

Made from a blend of wines from a range of Premier Cru vineyards, this is an excellent quality Pinot Noir. Hints of violets on the nose are followed by delicious savoury, fleshy red fruit on the palate.

BriO de Cantenac Brown 2007 Margaux

Elegantly structured claret, with aromas of pencil lead and sandalwood, and a bramble backbone. A good level of ripeness, medium body, and tannins of a firm, taut character.

Te Muna Road Pinot Noir, Craggy Range 2010 Martinborough

Deep red, with an almost blackish tint. The aromas are brooding yet inviting, characterised by black cherry, with hints of flowers and tarry notes. Silky on the palate, flowing to a long, spicy finish.
