Description

Rather than making this wine from a single vineyard's grapes as one might expect from Au Bon Climat, Isabelle is created by blending selected barrels from several sites, including Bien Nacido, Sanford & Benedict, Talley Rincon and Mount Carmel. A superbly structured, deep, complex and involving Pinot, and a great benchmarker of the vintage.

  • Extraordinary elegant (2009)

"Jim Clendenen's extraordinary elegant Isabelle blend, named in honour of his daughter and made using specially selected grapes and barrels, bursts with the sort of very fine, bold, tangy, smoky, strawberry fruit that Cote d'Or producers would be proud of. 2009 was a great California vintage for white and red wines owing to a near-perfect season, so Isabelle has a long life ahead of her. Enjoy this now or over the next decade and beyond. (Jane MacQuitty, The Times, 8th Sept 2012)"
