Retaining the classic fino structure but showing added power, this wine exhibits a delicate golden hue, and intriguingly complex secondary aromas of roasted nut and pine resin.

Founded in 1880, Ramos Pinto is one of the pioneering Port houses of the Douro Valley. This Tawny is a single-estate wine, blended from a selection of vintages, averaging 20 years of age. The older wines contribute the characteristic tawny colour and mature fruit flavours, while the younger wines add freshness and vigour.

This wine is part of an extremely limited release of only 900 half-bottles, from a solera created by Fernando de Castilla. It is drawn from the 'bota punta' or end barrel of the solera, which is said to have acquired a uniquely deep and complex character compared to all other barrels in the solera. A rare treat for any sherry lover, for immediate enjoyment or for extended cellaring.

A limited release of a small solera that has been bottled at optimum maturity, and without filtration, showing the wine's character in all its traditional and undiluted glory. An invigoratingly fresh flavour profile, with intense autolytic notes and an elegant yet powerfully mouth-filling character. Enjoyable upon release, but may be carefully stored for many years.

2003 was a great vintage for Port, where winemakers were able to capitalise on the low yields and concentration brought about by the high temperatures, to create intense and focused wines. Sumptuous port from a quality producer.
