Morey-St-Denis 1er Cru 2006 Domaine Dujac

This wine strikes a deft balance between bitter-sweet herbal (sassafras, licorice) and sweetly ripe (plum and black raspberry) fruit aspects, with peppery, peaty, Latakia tobacco pungency, and a ferrous mineral piquancy rendering it memorably distinct, especially after you've experienced this wines gripping finish. Nuits-St-Georges 'Chaliots' 2007 Domaine Michel Gros

Made from fruit drawn from four different areas and from vines of different ages, this has a great deal of complexity for a wine at this level. Deep, almost earthy, in character on the nose, but with a touch of floral fragrance.
