Château Doisy-Verdrines

Château Doisy-Verdrines 2007 Barsac, 2ème Cru Classé 12 x 75cl Bottles

95% Sémillon, 5% Sauvignon Blanc. One of the big successes in what is a top, top vintage in Sauternes. The nose is rich and glossy, with notes of lime jelly and a subtle floral perfume. The palate is very rich, with lime and tropical fruit, and a good backbone of acidity to provide freshness and longevity. Lovely stuff. Drink 2012-2025. 16.1 points (out of 20)

"Pale. Very simple nose but on the palate there is excellent acidity - rather a racy style of sweet wine. Aperitif? Lighter than most but the balance is fine within that idiom. Medium finish. A bit angular - certainly not luscious. 16.5 points (out of 20)."

"Lots of lemon cream and blanched almonds follow through to a medium-to-full body, with plenty of spicy, dried apricot character on the finish 89-92 points."
