En Primeur wines are still in barrel at the châteaux and are sold as ‘futures’ up to two years in advance of delivery. The price includes delivery in-bond to a dedicated storage account. Before your wine arrives in the UK you will have the option to specify duty-paid delivery to an address of your choice, but you will need to pay a release fee to cover duty, VAT and handling at the prevailing rates.

Description

This property has been in the hands of the Moueix family of Chateau Pétrus fame for over a century. Much of the Merlot which makes up a large portion of this wine was harvested before the mid September rain and you can tell. With a fragrant nose of violet, truffle and crushed raspberry the palate is fresh, plump and polished with a lovely verve and minerality. The wines of Pomerol are generally regarded as the most successful of the vintage and this offers serious value for money. Drink 2011 - 2020. 16.2 points (out of 20)

  • "Very dark crimson. Heady red fruits on the nose. Neat sleek compact – absolutely not flashy but quite concentrated. Very dry tannins on the finish. Far from fleshy but well balanced."
