Pinot Grigio

Pinot Grigio 2007 San Angelo Vineyard, Banfi

Although Pinot Grigio is best known as an 'everyday Bistro' wine, when a serious grower like Banfi pours expertise on it we get an altogether classier item. Spicy and rich yet dry and fresh. From a single vineyard called San Angelo in Tuscany.

"If only all Italian Pinot Grigio was as good as this. From Castello Banfi in Tuscany, rather than the cooler regions of northern Italy more associated with the grape, this is rounded and supple, with both tropical fruit and a lean acidity. It makes a fine aperitif, but is equally good with a plate of fritto misto or mushroom risotto."
