    "One of the real stars of the Languedoc is the Cabernet Sauvignon dominant (80%) Daumas Gassac Rouge. An immense ruby/purple colour is a clear indication that this is going to be a monster and it is! A youthful nose of ripe blackberries, blueberries, white pepper, exotic spices and a hint of smoke. Surprisingly, the wine is quite delicate in the mouth and extremely well balanced. Ripe summer fruits dominate, and there is a real smoked tea quality which I am absolutely fascinated by. It is drinking now, but ideally you would tuck this away for about 3 years to discover what a gem it really is."

    "Saussignac is a small appelation in the south of France that produces delicious sweet white wines made from Semillon and Muscadelle grapes. The 2005 Clos d'Yvigne Saussignac is a sensational example of what can be achieved. An immense nose of poached apricots, honey, dessicated coconut, preserved Kumquats, cinnamon and a hint of nutmeg give way to a wonderfully sweet palate that delivers more of the same with awesome concentration and sweetness. Balanced by superb acidity, the wine is sweet and luscious but remains clean and refreshing. A fantastic drop!"
