Something different from Montepulicano
This region can produce bland, characterless wines but this is out of the ordinary - bold, with an individual character and mouth-filling flavour. Not a wine for every day but an excellent alternative to the run-of-the-mill. I'm not sure what its best food match would be, but it went well with anchovy-spiced roast lamb.
