Grape

Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot

Origin
This is a genuine parcel bought direct from the Château and so represents great value for money. Based in the Cussac-Fort-Médoc region adjacent to Saint-Julien, this well made Cru Bourgeois is fantastic at this price.
Taste
This wine leaps out of the glass with ripe, black fruit, cedar and well integrated oak and structure. The length is long and clean, with a minty finish.
Enjoy
Enjoy over the next 4 years, matching with roast lamb, or turkey (with all the trimmings).

    A true Bordeaux

Having enjoyed greatly the 2002 vintage it seems that 2007 does not dissapoint at all. The 2007 lachesnaye haut medoc has same qualities as its predecessors and will further improve in the next few years.Great wine from Bordeaux at low value of £8.99

    A pleasant surprise.

This wine was recommended to me in the store. I was slightly dubious, a 2001 Haut-Medoc at £9.99, wouldn't normal have tempted me, and when I opened it and poured a taster it was as I suspected, musty, thin and past its best. Do I decant? not sure, that might make it worse, so I just left it! An hour later, expecting the worst I poured a glass to go with a nice bit of fillet and surprise surprise, it was great!! on the lighter side of medium bodied but at £9.99 at treat.

    Well worth a purchase !

This wine is no where near its best yet, I purchased a case for the cellar with the view to store for 510 years and allow this fine wine to reach its true potential, definately one for keeping rather than drinking young.

    Not enjoyable!

First disappointing wine from Majestic! Thin and acidic - drinkable but not enjoyable.

    Great Value Wine

This is an excellent wine for £7-99/bottle. It is the first wine I have ordered from Majestic and the service and delivery was also excellent.

    Very disappointing.

I had high hopes for this, but was really disappointed by a very dull, unyielding glass of uninspiring wine. Well worth paying more for the Moulin A Vent (Margaux) at around £10 a bottle, I think, which is altogether more appealing claret. A rare Majestic let-down..

  • "It's not often you can pick up an eight-year-old cru bourgeois for under £7 and not often you'd want to. This isn't perfect, but it is a true pleasure, offering the smells of a mature claret. Absolutely do not decant. I still can't believe the price."
