Grape

Montepulciano

Origin
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, not to be confused with the Tuscan village of the same name, is made from the Montepulciano grape variety from the Abruzzi region. This is the signature wine from the area, with coastal plantings at the foot of the Apennines mountains.
Taste
Whilst standards in this region can vary, this is a reliable, medium-bodied wine with lots of red cherry fruit and soft supple tannins.
Enjoy
The ripeness of the fruit and the soft tannic structure make this the perfect party wine or for drinking with light pork dishes.

    Very good value for money

If you like medium bodied #wine which goes down smoothly without leaving tannin, then this would be a good wine for you. Worryingly easy to drink, at £5 per bottle (if you buy in pairs), this is an absolute steal!

    Five quid?

I'm not complaining, easy drinking, great with some simple Italian food to bring out it's warmth, great with porchetta!

    Mk 1 escort

Late summer in Cornwall and you have just fallen asleep in the back of your Grandad's Mk 1 Escort, on waking you find you have been sucking on the vinyl seat covering.

    Good Value

This is a simple, Italian red, nothing special but you can't complain at less than £5 a bottle. It's not a wine you would tend to drink on it's own but with Italian food it's fine.

    Good value Red

If you like a medium bodied wine which goes down smoothly with a weekday evening meal then this is good.you. At £5 each for two bottles it is really good value too.

Light, summery red, worth it at discount price.

At only 12% and made for early consumption, with a light colour (for a Monte) and body, it’s ideal for a luncheon wine. A wild cherry nose and flavour, with a touch of smoke, makes it interesting and all the more remarkable for tasting better after being opened 24 hours. Rather optimistic of Majestic, however, to value it at £7.49: at £5.99 it's worth considering.
