Grape

Pinot Noir

Origin
Ross and Barbara Lawson founded Lawson's Dry Hills in 1992, and this benchmark Marlborough Pinot is sourced from three excellent grape growing sites in Marlborough's central valleys. A quarter of the wine is aged in French oak, with the rest in stainless steel.
Taste
A complex array of cherry and strawberry fruit flavours with lifted vanilla and coffee oak notes. Behind these characters are hints of smoke and roasted meats.
Enjoy
Enjoy on its own or with roast belly of pork, this wine will hold for the next 3 years but is drinking fantastically well now.

    2008 - Delicious, great flavour

It is much better than I was expecting. I generally try to buy the Otago Pinot Noir, but the prices have gone up I started to fish amongst the Marlborough ones, including the Composite Pinot Noir, Brancott Estate Pinot Noir South Island 2011, Fairleigh Estate Pinot Noir 2009 Marlborough, Giesen Pinot Noir 2011 Marlborough & St Clair Estate Selection Pinot Noir 2011 Marlborough. This 2008 Lawsons is lovely and smooth, typical NZ pinot taste, complex flavour, and a nice long finish. I paid £15 for 2 on special.& wish I had bought all Lawson. The price has gone up now, and I can't say if the 2009 is going to be a match for the 2009.

    Terry's Top Tipple (TTT)

Retired wine rep. (I review in plain English) Never tried this one before. I have now!....Superb!! A brilliant Pinot Noir with all of the qualities you would expect to find in a wine twice the price. If it's still at £9.99 in 2013, and the stock is available, I'll certainly be ordering a few more cases. If you like a smooth red wine with none of the harsh tannin tastes....you'll love this!!

A very pleasant Pinot Noir but just a bit too thin for me. Prefer the Wither Hills

    top notch Pinot Noir

New Zealand Pinot Noir, which I believe was planted to supplement their already world beating Sauvignon Blanc, just gets better and better. this is excellent and even better than Wither Hills P.N which I also bought at same time.
