Origin
Aglianico del Vulture is Basilicata's only DOC wine. It is also one of the most important wines of southern Italy. The vineyards are situated on soil of volcanic origin from Mount Vulture. The D'Angelo winery has been at the forefront of viticulture in Vulture.
Taste
With a bouquet of black berries, cherry, mocha and hints of spice, this wine is full bodied yet perfectly balanced with flavours of black berries and cherries, hints of clove and nutmeg.
Enjoy
This wine would be a perfect match with venison or peppered steak.

    Excellent stuff

    Tried this wine blind today; its really good, with typical high acidity and tannins balanced by deep, concentrated fruit flavours. Well worth paying the extra pennies for - I suspect this won't around for too long.
