59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot. With all that Merlot and a much larger shot of press wine than is normally required, Les Forts follows the same recipe as most of the "second" wines. This is a succulent and feminine offering which will provide an early drinking example of what many people currently regard as the finest wine currently being made in the Médoc. With a nose of black plum, dark chocolate and pencil shavings as ever it has the viscosity and sheen found in wines made in such a perfectionist manner. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. 15.4 points (out of 20)

"A bit of raw and sandpaper-like on the nose. Then sweet and round and flattering - very unlike Les Forts. So soft! So easy!!! Soft and round. Great for China. So different from the usual style of Les Forts. 16.5 points (out of 20)."

"Refined, with layers of polished tannins and a subtle and delicate palate. Medium-bodied, with lovely length and finesse. 87-90 points."
