This rare Palo Cortado is supremely elegant and intense, offering a blend of citrus peel, roasted almond and sandalwood aromatics, and a drying, incisively focused palate.
"This impressive vintage port, from a firm that has not been numbered among the great port houses of the last century, may turn out to be the most impressive wine from Croft in decades. The healthy purple/black color is followed by copious aromas of licorice, chocolate, and over-ripe black fruits. Full-bodied and unctuously-textured, with layers of juicy, succulent, full-throttle fruit, glycerin, high alcohol, and powerful tannin, this large-scaled, youthful vintage port will benefit from 7-10 years of cellaring. It should drink well for 30+ years". 93 points. Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
Price £60.00
This wine is part of an extremely limited release of only 900 half-bottles, from a solera created by Fernando de Castilla. A rare treat for any sherry lover, for immediate enjoyment or for extended cellaring.

Lebanese wine might seem obscure, but viticultural roots in Lebanon go back over 6000 years. Château Musar is a uniquely different wine from the Beeka Valley, produced by master winemaker Serge Hochar. Concentrated plum and blackberry fruit, hints of fig, prune, distinct liquorice and spice. Firm but fine tannins, good acidity and body, vibrant and fresh with streaks of cedar and cinnamon. Long finish. Château Musar will last for decades and can be enjoyed with everything from French-style roast lamb, to North-African cuisine.
A traditional Châteauneuf blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and 5% cinsault and Mourvedre, matured for 12-18 months in French oak barriques. This family winery cultivates 24 hectares of vineyards across 17 separate parcels, where the vines average 60 years of age. The wine is intensely aromatic, with a herbal smokiness and hints of game. Full-bodied yet supple, with a spicy muscularity. Drink now or cellar for 5-10 years.
Taken from old vines, this is a rich and concentrated wine, with an almost exotic feel. There are peach, mango and lifted spice characters on the palate, which is vibrant and very long, with a touch of minerality. This is benchmark Grüner from one of the best producers and given time will develop an extra dimension.
This wine has a complex nose of strawberry and fig, accented with notes of roasted coffee bean, vanilla and light toast. Smooth, spicy and harmonious on the palate.
A notably earthier and more serious nose of red and dark berry fruits that display a sauvage hint that carries over to the ripe and naturally sweet medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent phenolic maturity and ample mid-palate concentration, all wrapped in a mildly austere and rustic finish. Again, solid quality.
"Dark red cherries flowers and sweet spices literally jump from the glass in a wine that is both extroverted and imbued with a cool sense of classicism. The wine’s relatively upfront personality makes it a great choice for restaurant drinking. There is an immediacy here that is simply fabulous." 92 points. Antonio Galloni, The Wine Advocate
With seductive aromas of fragrant orange blossom, spices and fudge. The smooth initial taste develops into soft sweetness on the palate backed by the delicate aromas that are found on the nose.
"The dark ruby/plum-hued 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Tradition is a sexy, open-knit, delicious, richly fruity, full-bodied wine with lots of herbes de Provence/bouquet garni notes intermixed with hints of graphite, plums, figs, blueberries and black raspberries." 90 points. Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
A defined and elegant nose of candied lemon peel, honeysuckle and white flowers. Flavours of peach and the subtle botrytis notes of marmalade envelop the palate. This has a pleasing weight, cut-through by a crisp dart of acidity and a mineral edge. Lovely poise and direction, very refined indeed.
Presented in a stylish wooden box. An approachable, accessible, medium-bodied wine, with a ruby core of ripe red berry fruit, accented with plenty of black pepper, toast and vanilla notes.

Paringa Estate was started in 1985 by Lyndsay McCall, who abandoned his career in teaching to answer his calling to be a winemaker. The estate itself now comprises only 10 acres of vines, with partner growers providing access to a further 45 acres. This Chardonnay comes from three estate-managed vineyards, and is fermented in new and old French oak. The bouquet and palate display citrus, peach and nectarine characters along with the creamy nutty characteristics introduced by lees stirring. The mouth feel is long and rich and finishes with good natural acidity.
The Benegas family were true wine pioneers, having been among the first to bring noble French varieties to Argentina in the late 1800s. Meritage is a Bordeaux-inspired blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, from an old vineyard site in Mendoza's Maipo sub-region. The wine has immense depth, and a complex and savoury structure, reminiscent of a cru classé Bordeaux. Drink now or cellar for 10-15 years.
This Chambolle displays vibrant fruit on the nose, followed on the palate by juicy black fruit and freshly crushed raspberry on the finish. The tannins are firm yet silky and this will age very well. Drink 2012 - 2016.
"A very pinot nose of high-toned red berry fruit aromas with soft earth scents that introduce nicely rich, round and delicious middle weight flavors that culminate in a touch of austerity as well as warmth." 87-89 points, Allen Meadows, Burghound
A fine red Burgundy from the very home of Maison Louis Latour. The Pinot Noir grapes are grown in the estate's own vineyards close to the original Louis Latour winery, with its gravity-fed open fermenters and ancient cellars beneath.

Among Morey-Coffinet's premier crus, La Romanée is acknowledged to produce the most well balanced wines, with richness of fruit, supportedd by good acidity and a firm, mineral-tinged structure.
Inky and concentrated in the glass with liquorice and bramble fruit on the nose. Extremely pure on the palate with stunning definition and finesse. A magnificent village Châteauneuf from one of the region's rising stars, Julien Barrot.
This is a classy and complex wine showing earthy, savoury nuances and a minerality on the palate. Broad-shouldered with ripe tannins, this masculine Pommard has plenty of cellarage potential. Savour this wine as an accompaniment to game or soft cheeses such as Camembert.
"...the 2008 Haut-Batailley reveals delicious, sensual, black raspberry and black cherry fruit…" Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate (2009)
This wine offers bright, fresh ruby red fruit and a light perfume. Generous and rich, with a pleasing plumpness and length.
"...Abundant tannin in addition to a deep ruby/purple hue, superb purity, and a lovely texture are found in this delicious Pauillac…" Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate (2007)
With a chalky nose of grapefruit and toast. Palate is serious and stylish with lemony grip and well judged new oak. Very long, will develop nicely.
"[T]he 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee de Felix reminded me of a high class Pomerol. Notes of mulberries, kirsch, figs, damp earth, forest floor and spice box are present in this round, gracious, generous, full-bodied effort. Enjoy it now and over the next 10-15 years". 91 points. Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
"Smoky Latakia tobacco and bittersweet herbs accent the bright, fresh red berry fruit of Lachaux’s 2008 Chambolle-Musigny...". 89 points. David Schildknecht, The Wine Advocate
Attractively fragrant on the finish, with notes of raspberry and white flowers.
This wine is the first in a collection of wines sourced from vineyards owned by Leflaive's partner growers, selected exclusively from biodynamic plots, and vinified at Leflaive's own domaine at Puligny-Montrachet. This is an intense and hedonistic Rully from 40-year-old vines.
With a palate of ripe red fruit and a refreshing acidity, this wine is crying out for roasted pheasant.
"...this spectacular effort will drink well between 2007-2020. It is unquestionably one of the finest Doisy-Daenes I have ever tasted". 94 points. Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
Located slightly lower down the slopes than many of Morey-Coffinet's other premier cru sites, Les Fairendes sits on light, stony, but relatively deep soils, said to promote richness of flavour in the wines, which have a more tropical and voluptuous edge then the other premier crus.
Fragrant, with an almost-Vosne character on the nose. On the palate, the tannins are quite robust, though ripe and fine, giving this a structural nature. However, the rounded blue-fruit character brings balance and this has an attractive, long finish. Very good village Nuits.
"The 2009 Vosne-Romanee is layered with dark cherries, plums, cinnamon and licorice. It is a fleshy, seductive 2009 village level wine, yet it has also maintained more than enough freshness to drink well for a number of years. There is plenty of depth and texture in the glass." 90 points. Antonio Galloni, The Wine Advocate
