    "As I pour the wine into the glass, I am taken back by its deep garnet colour. The bouquet is absolutely sensational - leafy blackcurrant, mint, licorice, charcoal, cassis, and vanilla. The palate boasts much more of the same, and it continues to build for a good 25 - 30 seconds on the finish. There is beautiful weight and concentration, and this is a classically styled Bordeaux."

    "I've been following the Muga family wines since first tasting their 1987 vintage many years ago, and finally persuaded them to sell to Majestic during my years as a buyer in the early 1990s. The wines are unashamedly old-fashioned, being made in huge wood vats and fined using egg white. Unlike many modern Riojas they retain the traditional soft, strawberry fruit character and are fantastically balanced. This offering, from the amazing 2004 vintage, will age effortlessly for up to 20 years."

    "Ooh La La! This wine has a knockout nose of raspberries, espresso and asphalt. On the palate, the wine has even more to offer. Rich and full bodied, there is an abundance of raspberry and cherry fruit intermingled with the delicious flavours of espresso coffee. There are also nuances of licorice and tobacco on the very long and pleasurable finish. This is a fantastic Pomerol for the money. Ready to drink now, or stash it away for 4 - 5 years and treat yourself in a few years time."

    "From the appellation of Moulis-en-Medoc comes this absolute gem of a wine. The nose of blackberries, blackcurrants, mint and saddle leather is rich and concentrated. The palate is luscious, multidimensional and very sexy! Black fruits dominate on the palate, dusty tannins bringing it altogether. This is a very stylish wine that has extraordinary length."
