This is a mouthwateringly fresh and supremely well balanced wine displaying aromas of tropical fruits with herbaceous and capsicum notes.
"With Kiwi Sauvignon dominating the market it is nice to see the South Africans giving them a run for their money. Produced in Groenekloof, a relatively cool part of the Cape, this is an incredibly pure expression of the Sauvignon grape. Classic cut grass and herbaceous notes combine with tart gooseberry fruit and lead to a long refreshing finish reminiscent of stalky green pepper. Wonderful as an aperitif."

A cracking value Rully from the Côte Chalonnaise region of Burgundy, showing rich citrus fruit with streaks of minerality and soft buttery oak flavours.
"It is always a pleasure when a new arrival impresses and, for under a tenner, this does seriously impress! Produced on sandy soils in the Côte Chalonnaise, Rully is normally early drinking and this example is no exception. The fully mature palate of hazelnuts intermingled with ripe green apple and citrus fruit give a truly outstanding value for money Burgundy. A must try with roast chicken."

Marco Porello's estate is located in Piedmont, in the municipality of Canale, and his Roero is clean, delicate and pleasantly fruity with lime, lemon and floral notes.
"This unusual grape variety is native to the Roero hills on the west bank of the Tanero river in Piedmont. It has a soft, light, perfumed style, not dissimilar to Pinot Blanc. A classy choice to accompany a light lunch on a lazy summer day."

Large fluctuations in temperatures in Galicia preserve and intensify the aromatics, resulting in a wine with ripe apple and rose petal aromas and a fresh, silky palate. (Spain)
"Boosted by the strong Spanish economy, in recent years the quality of winemaking there has leapt incredibly, especially outside the well-known regions with less of an export market. Made by a husband and wife team in the Galicia region, and from the frankly obscure Godello grape, this would have been a tough sell until recently. However, it's time to plough your own furrow and try this, because it's lovely. There is a great tradition of fantastic fish cookery in Galicia (on the Atlantic coast) and this would be a perfect partner to a plate of garlicky prawns or grilled squid."

Showing notes of mango, banana and apple, with a hint of sweet spice and wet stone. Full yet clean on the palate, with pear and fig fruit flavours rounded off with fresh, crisp acidity.
"Fermentation in oak gives this wine a lush, smooth texture and wonderful vanilla notes on the nose, without taking away the fresh apple and melon fruitiness you expect from a superb New World Chardonnay."

Full bodied and intense, the finish gives an unmistakable flavour of almonds.
"From the heart of Tuscany, this intensely fruity wine will perk up the most tired of palates. An interesting almond flavour is paired with an unmistakable appley character which ensures a crisp, clean finish. Try this wine with the region's cheeses for a truly memorable experience."

Rich and creamy with exotic fruit aromas, with fresh mandarin notes and nuts on the palate.
"The rather bland packaging masks a high quality, interesting wine, which instantly wins over all who taste it. On the nose there is a rich, creamy complexity whilst the palate is buoyed by luxurious, peachy fruit and fresh acidity. Not all wines made by expat winemakers are special, but this is! It would be a great alternative to chardonnay, having the weight and feel of an expensive white burgundy."
Distinct minerally undertones are covered with layers of luscious passion fruit flavours, together with classic Sauvignon flavours of gooseberry and citrus fruit.
"South Africa can produce some great Sauvignon Blanc, and this is the perfect example. Classic gooseberry and nettle aromas, zingy fruit on the palate and crisp, well-balanced acidity."
