The finest Viognier comes from the Northern Rhone’s Condrieu, where wines are intensley perfumed, with honeyed peach and apricot fruit. Despite being grown predominantly in its native soils of France, Viognier is now widely planted in Chile, the South of France, Australia and South Africa, where it is often blended with Shiraz adding subtlety and smoothness to big red wines.
