Alban Vineyards Patrina Syrah 2008 Edna Valley

2008 sees the first vintage of the Patrina Syrah from John Alban, who has made the wine from a number of selected sites, all within his own estate vineyards in the Edna Valley.

Anakena Indo Merlot 2010 Cachapoal Valley

A supremely easy-drinking, soft-tannined Merlot, with small amounts of Syrah and Carmenere added for a slightly meatier structure. Nose and palate are reminiscent of a big bowl of red fruits.

A generous nose of currnats, loganberry and raspberry tarts, with faint suggestions of smoke, dark chocolate and violets. Thick and juicy palate fruit, with moderate tannins and a supple texture.

This muscular wine displays an intense blend of firm tannins, inky black fruit and lifted spice and floral aromas, smoothed and integrated by the influence of over a year in French oak barriques.
