Syrah or Shiraz

Origin
The first qualified winemaker to move to the Clare Valley, the late Jim Barry's estate now totals over 200 hectares in this superb wine-growing region. The Lodge Hill site was originally meant for Riesling, but instead was chosen to make this premium, reserved Shiraz.
Taste
The inky blackcurrant and boysenberry fruit is lifted by violet and menthol notes, with smooth tannins still providing plenty of grip. The finish is long and rich.
Enjoy
Drink this wine now, or over the next 5 years to soften the dense fruit, matching it to grilled meats, lasagne and casseroles.

    Solid Drinking

This beauty is as solid as a rock, more body than pamela anderson and as nice on the lips. It tastes so good. Give us the whites from the same stable please Majestic! Just please drink responsibly.

Very good shiraz and pretty good value

At around £10, I think this is very good value for money. It's a lovely, rich shiraz, but not too over-powering. I often find Australian shiraz a bit much, but I really like this one

    Punchy

As expected really, nice and potent, 14.5% and you can feel it. The dark red berries are in abundance and very quoffable. Lots of other good stuff going on if can hold back and sip it for a while.
