Run by husband-and-wife team, Jean-Marc and Sophie Autran, this domaine works hard to limit yields and produce modern, full, fruit- driven wines that still retain the spicy characteristics of Rhône wines. Unfiltered to ensure optimum flavour is maintained, this excellent vintage shows fruits of the forest flavours, particularly black cherries and strawberries, as well as white pepper and spice.

"Red berries and a whiff of farmyards on a cool morning (so not too pungent) characterise this unfiltered wine that's made from grenache and syrah. (Incidentally, if you're tempted by the special deal, I also recommend Piaugier's cheapest Côtes du Rhône and the Gigondas.). Score: 4/5"
