Grape

Syrah or Shiraz

Origin
This Syrah comes from a plot of relatively young vines, planted on a northeast-facing slope. Consequently it is one of Leyda's warmer sites, ideal for ripening this thicker-skinned red grape. The wine undergoes 14 months maturation in new and old French oak.
Taste
An expressive and open nose of blackberry and redcurrant, with the trademark tinges of black and white pepper and heady spiciness. The palate has good concentration and enduring mocha notes.
Enjoy
The perfect accompaniment for herby sausages, venison burgers, or spice-rubbed barbecued steaks.
