A versatile, supple and youthful middleweight red, with a ruby-purple colour and a nose of cassis, blackberry jam and grenadine. Tannins are ripe and soft, framing a juicy core of fresh berry fruit. As enjoyable on its own as it is with a rack of ribs.

Laurent Miquel L'Artisan 2010 Faugères

Vivid crimson with deep purple shades, this is a youthful and generous red, with aromas of summer fruit pudding and cocoa beans, and a palate of lush blackcurrant fruit and ample yet supple tannins. Best enjoyed decanted 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavours to open fully. Drink with barbecued meats.

Aromatically rich and complex, with jammy blackcurrant fruit and hints of roasted coffee bean, leather and soft spice notes. Round and soft on the palate, with supple, well-weighted tannins.

Les Hauts de Castelmaure 2009 Corbières

An expressive and open nose, full of damson jam and cassis notes, and that unmistakable 'garrigue' aroma of heather and wild thyme. Plenty of body and soft, ripe tannins. A great all-round wine for drinking on its own or with food. Ideal with beef daube, casseroles and other tender red meats.

A generous nose of currnats, loganberry and raspberry tarts, with faint suggestions of smoke, dark chocolate and violets. Thick and juicy palate fruit, with moderate tannins and a supple texture.

This producer sources its grapes from La Cave des Vignerons, a cooperative of producers located across the southern Rhône Valley. A pleasant nose of cherry and blackcurrant fruit. Concentrated but nicely balanced.

Deep, youthful crimson colour, with lively red fruit aromatics, nuanced with notes of pepper and a subtle vanilla lift. Ripe and fleshy, with good concentration, and pliant, smooth tannins.
