Origin
Having grown up in a winemaking family, Jeanne Gaillard went on to study winemaking at the Beaune Viticultural High School, working for some prestigious producers in Burgundy and California, before taking over this domaine of her own, aged just 24.
Taste
Fresh and supple Syrah with a vibrant crimson colour. The nose is blackcurrant and red cherry scented, with very subtle black and white pepper spice. Medium-bodied, with fine, slightly savoury tannins.
Enjoy
Best served with grilled or barbecued pork or lamb chops.

    Spicy little number

    Very quaffable without food - always a good test! Like the spiciness. Don't be put off by the slightly amateur label.

    Highly recommended....

    This is right up my street! Well done Jeanne Gaillard & team, this is one to be proud of. Perfect Rhone Syrah (at 12.5% - please note all producers who think the ridiculous 14.5% is the way forward) with a beautiful mild, warming pepper and spice finish. Note to Majestic buying team - more winners like this in place of the current Rhone offer £7 - £10 would be appreciated.

    Faultless

    Purply red color; light spice and dark fruit; medium body with a balanced level of tannins, leaving you with a delicate bitter cherry in the end. Difficult to find any faults on this 2010 syrah by Jeanne Gaillard. Served this fine wine with veal burgers and chorizo sausages. Fantastic price for a 100% Syrah from Norther Rhone. Any other northern rhone wine would start double this price.
