92% Sémillon, 8% Sauvignon Blanc. Our team were narrowly divided between this and Rieussec as the best Sauternes we tasted. The nose is restrained, a little closed, and certainly very elegant - there are lightly honeyed, apple and brioche notes reminiscent of prestige cuvée Champagne but with more richness and opulence. The palate opens up nicely with great sweetness and intensity, a long finish and a steely backbone of acidity. Definitely one for the long term - drink 2020-2035. 17.5 points (out of 20)

"Green gold. Muted, almost dry nose. Very sweet start though a little on the hot barley sugar side rather than wonderfully fine and nuanced. A bit sugary. Astringent finish but massive sugar levels even if not fine. Chewy end. Gone for bust! Not quite as fine at this stage as I have come to expect of this property. 17.5 points (out of 20)."

"Solid baby sticky, with a core of apple pie, honey and spicy fruit on the palate. Medium- to full-bodied, with medium sweetness and a lively finish. 92-95 points."
