    My Favourite Kiwi Sauvignon

Lovely wine, worth the little bit more than it's direct competition and no where near as pricey as Cloudy Bay what's more it comes from a family run vineyard

    Surprisingly good!

Similar to Villa Maria, very fruity, very good, a bit drier perhaps - strong in flavour. Not as good as Goldwater.

Good example of a Marlborough sauvignon

This wine takes a while to show its true character out of the bottle, and it needs to be quite chilled. My first glass hadn't been in the fridge long enough and the notes were bordering on fragrant/sickly, but another hour longer and the distinct gooseberry nose was distilled into a very quaffable wine. Matched it with a cheddar, bacon and tomato omlette which worked well - however at £8 on offer this is still slightly overpriced for my liking.

Press Reviews

  • "On the nose this is a textbook Kiwi sauvignon - all nettles and gooseberries - but in the mouth the flavours are a little richer than you'd expect. The wine is partially fermented in barrels which fattens out the palate before the grape's natural acidity kicks in."
