Named after one of the tallest rugged peaks to the southeast of the vineyard, The Ned offers superb purity of fruit and varietal character. A nose of nettles and grass leads to generous gooseberry flavours with a smoky herbal twist on the palate reminiscent of a well crafted Sancerre. The stony terroir gives the wine a subtle gun flint minerality which delivers extra complexity.
"A New Zealand sauvignon blanc with some real complexity and finesse, combining fresh grass, grapefruit and gooseberry with some gunflint smokiness and minerality. Something like a goats cheese tart would be an ideal match but it will happily stand up to turkey with all the trimmings!"

"Archetypal gooseberry and grass cutting aromas which carry through in the mouth. This is vivid and vibrant, even exuberant, but it doesn't go over the top: everything is in balance. There's a slightly complicated package of discounts, but the main one is from November 27 to January 5, when it's £6.95 when you buy two or more bottles. Also available from Waitrose."
