Grape

Canaiolo, Sangiovese

Origin
Chianti comes from the famous region of Tuscan in West-central Italy. This Chianti, is from the heartland of the Chianti zone from perfect south-easterly facing slopes near the village of San Leonino.
Taste
This is a very traditional style of Chianti. Full of red cherry flavours and violets, with vibrant acidity, hints of sweet spices and a beautiful long, silky finish. Drink now or keep for 3-4 years.
Enjoy
The acidity in this wine make it a perfect food match to most Italian foods. A perfect partner to roast meats, pasta dishes and pizza.

    Poor

bought a case of this before christmas, still have two bottles left !. For a classico , this in one of the poorest bottle I have ever drunk. Def not worth £11.24 for this quality

    Very pleasant

Very smooth and pleasant to drink, good rounded flavour. 3 stars as I expected something a little more special at the price but not an average wine by any means.

    Smooth and fruity

I loved this, bags of flavour and if "on the nose" means it smelt nice then yes. Perfect with Italian food. I need to explore more Italian reds, this was a good start.

a poor example - you can do better

very average and uninteresting. for 10 pounds you should be able to get something twice as good and also there should be a chianti classico at 15-18 pounds that's really special - no excuse not to have those with all the choice out there!!

    Lovely juicy Chianti

This isn't the best Chianti Classico I've tasted, but its very good, excellent for the price. Juicy red cherry fruit with good food friendly acidity, really well integrated oak, and nice supple tannins make for a really well balanced and thoroughly enjoyable wine. Lovely soft texture too. Excellent with pasta, or great just to enjoy a glass on its own.

  • "In the heart of the Tuscany region lies the area of Chianti, where the Sangiovese grape thrives. Cherry and sweet spice flavours make this fantastic with bbq's and pasta dishes."
