Grape

Chardonnay, Roussanne

Origin
This unique blend of Chardonnay and Roussanne depends on the north wind to ensure gentle aeration of the berries and thus humidity-free maturation. The berries were carefully picked at night so as not to be exposed to the heat of the day.
Taste
A pale yellow colour leads to an intense and elegant nose. Notes of honeysuckle, peach, melon and caramel are backed-up on the palate and contribute to a well-balanced persuasive finish.
Enjoy
Open over the next year or two with seafood and chicken dishes or as an interesting partner to Asian fusion cuisine.

Really disappointing. Total lack of depth and no interesting top notes to talk of in spite of the glowing description. Forgettable.

    l like it

it has a honeyed sweetness and a buttery softness with peach and pear scents. just don't drink it too cold or you will lose all the surprising depth to the nose on this very palatable vintage

    A disappointment

The zingy, grapefruit nose promises much, but once in the mouth this fails to deliver: thin and sharp, with neither body nor structure, this is an altogether forgettable VDP. Much better to be had for the price.

    numb

consumed over 2 evenings and while better on the 2nd there seems to be something missing. nice savoury/saline edge makes it good with food but not great. probably just me but paul mas wines offer more bang for the buck

    Unusual Blend That Works

Clean nose with touch of spice from the rousanne. Light dry fruity wine - very well balanced, good for a summer seafood lunch. Good value

    Excellent Wine

This wine exceeded my expectations, even with the glowing review. Its an interesting blend of roussanne and Chardonnay. Roussanne can sometime be a bit heavy, but the Chardonnay really lifts it. Top class wine for the price.

Press Reviews

  • "A blend of 60% Roussanne and 40% Chardonnay. Roussanne fermented in 1 year old French oak barrels and aged for a further six months prior to blending. Peachy aromas, aromatic hint with zing and fleshy body. Score: 88/100"
