The young and energetic Pascal Lachaux at Domaine Robert Arnoux produces wines of extraordinary elegance and charm. Robert Parker says "when Arnoux is on target his wines are among the most seductive and complex of all Burgundy". The 1999 vintage is undoubtedly one of the greats of the last century and this Gevrey-Chambertin shows a rich, velvety nose of wonderful depth and class. The palate is balanced, enticing and full of developing fruit flavours of ripe cherry, raspberry and a peppering of blackcurrant integrated with hints of oak. A delightful complex, long finish displaying all the fine qualities of a great Burgundy vintage.

"Very expressive Muscavado sugar, bracken and dark and gamy nose. On the palate sweet fruit is dominant, with an enveloping strawberry and smoky character, with just enough tannic structure and juicy acidity. For drinking soon."
