Pinot Grigio
Despite originating from Alsace as Pinot Gris, today Pinot Grigio is Italy's most successful white wine, characterised by its dry, light style, subtle citrus fruit, and refreshing acidity. The style is so successful that it is also made into Pinot Grigio Rosé. Outside Italy and France, Pinot Grigio is grown in Australia and New Zealand, where the warmer climates encourage more pronounced fruit flavours, yet maintain the desirable freshness.
